First graders looked into the future and imagined what they would be like as grown ups. They pondered such thoughts as, What will I look like? and What will my career be? I told them that I have always wanted to be an art teacher since I was a little kid (which is partially true except for my brief phase as a fashion designer). They used mirrors to observe their features and noticed that eyes are not just circles with dots and boys have lips and even eyelashes.
Students sketched on big white paper and made a list of things they would need to do their job. There will be many, many artists and art teachers as well as lots of police officers, a couple of scientists, an engineer, a chef, a ninja, and even an astronaut! The kids loved using their imaginations to come up with what they will look like when they are grown ups.

I am going to try something new here inspired by fitnesscrEATures . . .
When you were little, what did you want to be when you were grown up?

I bet you loved the artists and the teacher ones! The ninja one is the best for sure though!! Cute.
That’s a funny topic – this week in Toastmasters club, our theme was that exact question and I didn’t get up and speak because I can’t remember/didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. That may explain quite a few things today….

I would love a time machine to see what child-Meg would like to be when she grows up!

They did a great job! However, I keep pondering what is on the first police officer’s shirt on the left…

Of course I love those llitte washer bunnies and the tote and the eggs, etc. etc. but I think that llitte chicken and egg takes First Prize. I’ve got to do that!!
