A big thank-you/shout-out goes to Mrs. Knight’s Smartest Artists for the idea for this lesson! Kinders explored the conecpt of symmetry for this end-of-year project.
We started off by painting with liquid tempera on 1/2 of a piece of paper.
After each color/shape/line/brush stroke, students would fold the paper and press down. . .
Then voila! A monster face was created!
With all of the hectic end of the year schedules and shenanigans, some classes used crayons and construction paper for a background while others had time to create a crayon and water color resist “habitat” Both versions are equally awesome, check out these fantastic beasts!
This artist told me, “My picture has 2 Earths so its really creepy.”
